The Captain's RESIDENCE
Captain Alexandro Manaraisy, referred fondly by Dhiffushi islanders as “Cappithaanu”, wrecked his vessel “Terror Du Mundo” on Dhiffushi Reef in 1974.
Cappithaanu, paralyzed at birth from the waist down, remembered still by some elderly islanders cruising in his wheel chair along with his four crew members lived, (two members) married and enjoyed the island life for almost a decade before leaving the Maldives.
As of November 2014, the residence has been restored & upgraded to a boutique hotel blending the history of the residence with modern comfort & amenities.
The Captain’s Residence brings to life the story, experience and the residence of Cappithaanu and his crew from 1974 to 1986.
